Lindsay Lohan: Those Drugs Were Not Mine
July 26, 2007
Lindsay Lohan has come out to proclaim her innocence against her new charges of cocaine possession.
“I am innocent. I did not do drugs, they’re not mine…I appreciate everyone giving me my privacy,” she reportedly wrote to Billy Bush of Access Hollywood.
“We are doing everything in our power in support of Lindsay and I won’t give up — this is my daughter and we love her,” Dina Lohan said on the television show The Insider. “I am sick over this. … Lindsay is in a safe place, and we are trying to strategically work out our next step.”
Despite her recent troubles, Ms. Lohan’s film “I Know Who Killed Me” is still scheduled to open on Friday.

Xbox 360 Guru Bets On $399 PS3
July 26, 2007
Is there going to be a $399 PS3 on the shelves before Thanksgiving in the United States? Andre Vrignaud, Xbox 360 guru and Microsoft and employee, is willing to bet on it.
“My prediction is that you’re going to see the creation of a new, low-end SKU this holiday,” wrote Vrignaud on ozymandias.com.
“It’ll likely remove integrated WiFi, memory card reader, and most controversially, all backward compatibility. (Remember, there’s still some back-compat hardware in even the new “software only” back compat SKUs; removing the remaining CPU is a significant cost savings.) You’ll see a new WiFi dongle made available. And finally, this low-end SKU will likely come with a smaller 40 GB hard drive. The low-end price will be set at $399, with the higher-end 80 GB SKU dropping to $499.”
He boldly predicts that the new PS3 is going to happen much sooner than later.
“So there you go - nothing magic about the current value SKU. It’s just a classic retail technique of clearing the channel for new SKUs. Now we just need to wait a few months for the announcement - it’ll have to be before Thanksgiving, so I’d expect October.”
Newsweek’s N’Gai Croal thinks otherwise. The two now have a steak dinner bet on it. If Sony starts selling a $399 PS3 by Black Friday 2007, Vrignaud wins. If not, free steak for Croal. Let the dramatic tension begin!
Barack Obama Wins Groundbreaking YouTube Debate on CNN
July 25, 2007
The first ever YouTube debate aired on CNN last night and the consensus appears to be overwhelming — Barack Obama won by a landslide.
Some choice quotes from the media:
CNN: Randi Kaye on Focus Group Votes for Debate Winner: “When the debate ended the same group moving meters actually rated each candidate’s overall performance. And here is how they stacked up: take a look, Obama, Biden, Edwards, and on the bottom Clinton, Anderson back to you.” [Image: Who do you think performed the best during the debate you just viewed?: Obama 33%,Biden 21%, Edwards 17%, Clinton 8%]
Fox News South Carolina Focus Groups (Frank Luntz): “He is off the charts. I mean, this is as high as it can go. He’s explicit. He has drawn the contrast. He has hit a home run. What I would like to do is I want to play for you the sound of what they had to say about Barack Obama so you can really understand it’s not that he is a good politician and not his experience. It’s as much his presentation and more importantly it’s that he seems to represent people rather than politics. If you guys back there can roll the sound, this is why Obama will be shown as the winner of tonight’s debate.”
Time: Mark Halperin on Overall Performance: Grade: A- : When he was good, he was very, very good. .. Still, his best performance to date, positioning him to return in later forums to the change-change-change contrast he wants (and needs) to define his candidacy.
