Miley Cyrus Explains Hannah Montana Switcheroo

Miley Cyrus, star of the Disney superhit Hannah Montana, has one of the most squeaky clean reputations in the business.

So it certainly came as surprise when accusations starting flying that she has been using a body double while singing.

It turns that the rumors were technically accurate — but they were completely blown out of proportion.  The use of the faux Montana is only for a minute or two, and the vocals are 100% Ms. Cyrus.

“To help speed the transition from Hannah to Miley, there is a production element during the performance of ‘We Got the Party’ incorporating a body double for Miley,” her rep explained to the LA Times.

“After Hannah has completed the featured verse on the duet with the Jonas Brothers, a body double appears approximately one to two minutes prior to the end of the song in order to allow Miley to remove the Hannah wig and costume and transform into Miley for her solo set. Other than during this very brief transitional moment in the show, Miley performs live during the entirety of both the Hannah and Miley segments of the concert.”

Hence, this is nothing like the Ashlee Simpson debacle, during which Jessica’s sis was caught lip-synching on a live episode of Saturday Night Live.
