Reitman: No Juno Sequel, Honest To Blog

February 15, 2008

Juno is the surprise hit of the season, garnering acclaim with both the critics and the masses.  It’s a trite comparison, but in many ways it really is this year’s Little Miss Sunshine.

But just as there’s no sequel for Little Miss Sunshine in the works, it appears we will not be seeing Ellen Page playing Juno in another go ’round.

Oscar-nominated director Jason Reitman explained why to the New York Post’s Page Six.

“I can’t see it. She got pregnant once; I just can’t see her getting pregnant again,” he explained.

Don’t be too sad, though — Reitman is teaming up with writer Diablo Cody once again with Jennifer’s Body, and it promises to keep the snappy dialogue.

He recently described the upcoming flick to EW as ”kind of like if Juno was possessed by a demon and started eating her classmates.”

Vanessa Hudgens: I Relate To My High School Musical Character

February 13, 2008

Preparing to play Gabriella Montez for the third time in the upcoming High School Musical 3, Vanessa Hudgens recently reflected about how she feels about the character.

In a recent interview with the Australian magazine Girlfriend, Hudgens was questioned about whether there was anything that irritates her about playing Gabriella.

“No, I really love what she became in High School Musical 2,” she replied.

“In the second movie, you see her making hard decisions and becoming a strong woman.  That’s one thing I’m very proud of.  You really see her grow as a person.”

When asked if she could relate to her, Vanessa acknowledged that she certainly does.

“Yeah, totally.  I’m definitely all about the now,” said Hudgens.  “I think she definitely takes chances on things but she’s a very strong person and I think I am, too.”

Hannah Montana Star Miley Cyrus Proud Of Jamie Lynn Spears

February 13, 2008

It’s easy to pick on Jamie Lynn Spears.

She’s the sister of Britney Spears, who has been a media trainwreck these days, and the Zoey 101 star got knocked up at age sixteen.  It’s certainly not an enviable position to be in, especially in the public spotlight.

But Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus isn’t one of the people taking public potshots at Jamie Lynn.   It turns out that the two of have been chatting lately, and Cyrus seems to be incredibly supportive of her during these hard times.

“She’s now really excited, so I’m proud of her,” the Hannah Montana star told Us Magazine.

“I think she’s done the best she can,” she offered.

It certainly is ironic that so many people are embracing the fictional lead character in Juno while chastising Jamie Lynn Spears for what is, at least on the surface, a somewhat similar situation.
