Ted Kennedy In Hospital After Suffering Seizure
May 17, 2008
Eight-term United States Senator Edward M. Kennedy from Massachusetts has been hospitalized after suffering a seizure, according his Washington spokesperson Stephanie Cutter.
During October of 2007, Ted Kennedy had undergone surgery in order to clear a large blockage in a substantial neck artery. The blockage had been found during a routine examination for an old back injury.
“It appears that Senator Kennedy experienced a seizure this morning,” said the spokesperson. “He is undergoing a battery of tests at Massachusetts General Hospital to determine the cause of the seizure. He is resting comfortably, and it is unlikely we will know anything more for the next 48 hours.”
Deval Patrick, the governor of Massachusetts, issued the following statement: “The Senator, Mrs. Kennedy and their whole family are in our thoughts and prayers. Diane and I are sending good wishes and hoping for his speedy recovery.”
