Vanessa Hudgens & Zac Efron Will Spend ‘Senior Year’ Together

January 15, 2008

The fact that High School Musical 3 is a go and that the whole gang, including Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman, have all signed on is hardly a surprise.

We’ve been writing about the project for a while now; everybody’s been talking about it and a deal had already been signed to start shooting in Utah in April.

But today Variety has made the official announcement that High School Musical 3: Senior Year is on for a theatrical release, so we figured it was worth a mention.

The screenplay features seniors Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) facing the dreaded potential of being apart from each other since they’re not going to the same college.  There’s no better way to express one’s feelings than through song, so the Wildcats put on a huge musical to show the emotional turmoil everybody is going through.

Disney’s HSM 3: Senior Year will hit theaters on Oct. 24.

Nicole Richie & Joel Madden Welcome Harlow Winter Kate Madden

Nicole Richie Gives BirthNicole Richie, the star of the Simple Life whose life was not very simple in 2007, has given birth to a baby girl.

The former reality star and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte fame named the six pound, seven ounce newborn Harlow Winter Kate Madden.

Everything appears to have gone smoothly and the proud parents are already home.

“The beautiful healthy baby girl left the hospital with her ecstatic parents,” a rep for the couple told People Magazine.

Richie had previously acknowledged that while the pregnancy was unplanned, it was a “blessing in disguise”.

“I owe this baby my life. I owe this baby everything, and I have a responsibility now for someone else,” she told Diane Sawyer in an August interview. “I have to set the right examples. I want to be the best parent I can be. I would really want to be someone my child would look up to.”

Move Over Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale Is Going Hollywood Too!

January 12, 2008

Ashley Tisdale They Came From UpstairsVanessa Hudgens isn’t the only High School Musical actress sought by Hollywood; Ashley Tisdale has just signed on for her debut on the big screen in They Came From Upstairs.

Tisdale, who plays the spoiled rich girl Sharpay Evans in HSM, will actually shoot this one before the third installment of the Disney franchise starts shooting in April.

The screenplays features a gaggle of teenagers who join forces to protect their vacation home in Maine from aliens.    We hate when that happens.

Other members of the cast that have signed on include Robert Hoffman, Carter Jenkins, Austin Butler, Ashley Boettcher and both Henri and Regan Young.  John Schultz, director of Like Mike and Drive Me Crazy, will be directing.
