Apple: Your Unlocked iPhone May Brick During Next Update

There’s nothing worse than spending $599 for an aesthetically pleasing brick. 

But that’s exactly what may happen to iPhone users who have used naughty methods in order to unlock their beloved devices.   According to Apple, the next software update might not just relock their phones back to their original setting, but they may be rendered completely inoperable.

“Apple has discovered that many of the unauthorized iPhone unlocking programs available on the Internet cause irreparable damage to the iPhone’s software, which will likely result in the modified iPhone becoming permanently inoperable when a future Apple-supplied iPhone software update is installed,”  the company publicly warned consumers today. 

“Apple strongly discourages users from installing unauthorized unlocking programs on their iPhones. Users who make unauthorized modifications to the software on their iPhone violate their iPhone software license agreement and void their warranty. The permanent inability to use an iPhone due to installing unlocking software is not covered under the iPhone’s warranty.”

Is this simply a scare tactic in order to keep customers wholesome, or a sign of the end of days?  We suppose it’ll become much clearer once the next update takes place. 

Denied: Purported Meg White Sex Tape Is Bogus

If you fell in love with a girl, fell in love and almost completely believed it was Meg White starring in a raunchy sex tape, we have some traumatic news for you. 

The White Stripes drummer is definitely not the girl in the video, and her rep is not particulary thrilled with people asserting that it is.

“Some people have a very twisted sense of humor and this prank is in particularly bad taste,” the rep told the website TMZ.  “The tape circulating on the Internet as featuring Meg White is fake. It’s definitely not her.”

Well, one person who’s probably happy about the whole situation is High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens.  It certainly has taken attention away from her nude foibles, at least for a day. 

Whoever the video starlet is, if she’s looking for a career in doing what she was doing in front of the camera, this would be the time to find a good agent.  I suspect she won’t have a hard time finding work.

PS3 RPG Freebie: Angel Love Online

You can’t beat free with a stick, so PS3 gamers will be happy to know that there is a new RPG title slated for December that will be free.

Well…by new, we mean that the upcoming Angel Love Online for  PlayStation 3 is going to be ported from the PC version that was released last year by Q,  publisher of Lumines and Meteos.  And by free, we mean it will cost nothing to download (it’s assumed that it’ll be available via the PS3 Store).  However, there are charges for microtransactions, and that’s how Q makes its dough.

ALO takes place in Eden, the wonderful place where angels reside. You create a character and learn the ins and outs via the Angel Academy tutorial mode,  Then you can choose 1 of 4 kingdoms where your adventure will take place. As a protector, gamers build their own unique story and meet other characters and monsters, etc.
