Vanessa Hudgens: I Relate To My High School Musical Character

Preparing to play Gabriella Montez for the third time in the upcoming High School Musical 3, Vanessa Hudgens recently reflected about how she feels about the character.
In a recent interview with the Australian magazine Girlfriend, Hudgens was questioned about whether there was anything that irritates her about playing Gabriella.
“No, I really love what she became in High School Musical 2,” she replied.
“In the second movie, you see her making hard decisions and becoming a strong woman. That’s one thing I’m very proud of. You really see her grow as a person.”
When asked if she could relate to her, Vanessa acknowledged that she certainly does.
“Yeah, totally. I’m definitely all about the now,” said Hudgens. “I think she definitely takes chances on things but she’s a very strong person and I think I am, too.”

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus had two different career paths she could have chosen early on.
There’s the highly sexualized “not that innocent” pop star route, a la ex-Disney star Britney Spears. And then there’s the good girl direction, like pop sensation Hilary Duff, who started off on the same channel.
Cyrus chose path number two, and between her CD sales, Hannah Montana viewership, and now box office receipts, it’s worked out quite well for Miley. And even with the level of fame she has achieved, she still has the humility to say that Ms. Duff helped paved the way for her.
When asked about whether she still looks up to Hilary, she had nothing but praise to say in a recent interview with MTV News.
“Yeah, because she’s on Disney, or was on Disney Channel, and she’s kind of set the way for all of us, not only just in a business sense, but [by] saying that it is OK to be a good girl. Like, that’s cool! It’s kind of just given us all inspiration to go out. Whether it was her or not, I would definitely be doing what I’m doing, but she definitely made it more acceptable,” Cyrus gushed.
Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert has not only been overperforming at the box office, but also has an 84% fresh rating with the critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
Not a bad way to start 2008 for a person who only recently turned 15.
High School Musical 3’s Vanessa Hudgens & Ashley Tisdale: We’re Like Twins!

When it comes to BFFs, High School Musical 3 stars Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale certainly fit the bill.
While there’s false rumors that Ashley is trying to “steal” Zac Efron away from Vanessa that pop up from time to time, the fabrications haven’t caused the two to drift apart.
“I call her my twin sister. She’s always there for me,” Tisdale said in the latest issue of US Magazine. “Some people are really competitive; we’re not. We’re really supportive of each other. You don’t find that a lot in this business.”
Vanessa Hudgens was next to shower her friend with praise.
“We were never competitive in any way, shape or form. We completely understand each other,” she said. “She’s a lot of fun, and she’s just grounded.”
The duo’s favorite thing to do while hanging out? “Shop!” exclaimed Hudgens.
